Sounds of West Texas: The Young and The Ageless

SoundsOfWestTexas.Composite.Wide.jpg

The Sounds of West Texas will present "The Young and the Ageless" - singing some of the best loved songs ever written.  These young and "more seasoned" local talented performers will be doing classic country, current country, classic rock,  and pop nostalgia.  This show is unique in that lucky audience members can win a door prize and a few of the performers sing jingles written for some of the sponsors on the show (to add a little fun.)  A special guest for this show will be 92 year old Lucy Dean Record, who has been inducted in to 6 different Western Swing Hall of Fames.  Another honor bestowed upon her was being named "Instrumentalist of the Year" for The Academy of Western Artists.  Lucy still teaches piano lessons and goes and plays gigs regularly.  Her fascinating story was featured on Texas Country Reporter this past December.  She will be tearing up the piano and amaze everyone who hears her on this show!  Our super talented young performers will be Gage Brockman - a college student at Texas Tech; Ty McCraw - a Frenship High School student who has sung many times at the Cactus Theater; Kendal Payne-attended South Plains College in the commercial music program, and Morgan Reatherford who is attending South Plains College currently and has performed on the Cactus stage previously.  Other "seasoned" featured performers will be:  Larry Allen, Kaci Brice, Steve Burrus, Brenda Hopkins, Mike Huffman, Donnetta Lippe, Donnie Martin, Wally Moyers, Johnny Richardson, Betty Smith, Keith Smith, Mark Wallney, Steve Williams, and Terry Westbrook.

This show has an earlier start than most Cactus productions and will begin at 7:00 p.m.  There will be some door prizes given at 6:50 and more during the intermission of the show.  Tickets will be $20 for all of the floor seats and $15 for the balcony seats.  You don't want to miss this production of "The Young and the Ageless!"
